ASI whose 3 kin cleared SIs’ exam, CRPF cop among 4 more arrested

 JAMMU, Nov 6: The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) today further cracked down on belt force personnel involved in leakage of question papers of Sub Inspectors in Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and JE Civil by arresting two of their personnel and two others including a printing press employee in New Delhi.


With this, total arrests in the paper leakage scam have gone up to 13 including a BSF Commandant working as the Medical Officer (MO) at Paloura Headquarters.
Official sources told the Excelsior that Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of police Ashok Kumar, then posted at Nowabad Police Station as Munshi and presently at Kanachak Police Station, a resident of Chodraywalla, Pallanwalla and Surinder Kumar, a constable of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) posted at Chatha near Satwari, a resident of Rewari in Haryana, were among the four persons arrested this evening for their involvement in the scam, by the CBI.
Two other arrested persons include Vajinder Singh of Rewari, Haryana and Pardeep Kumar of New Delhi, who was working in the printing press from where the question papers were leaked.
Three kin of ASI Ashok Kumar including his son, daughter and son-in-law figured in merit list of Sub Inspectors in Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Twin exams of Sub Inspector and JE Civil have already been cancelled by the Government and will be held afresh in December.
Names of four former officers of Services Selection Board (SSB) have also figured during interrogation of arrested persons, for their involvement in paper leakage exam.
“All of them are under the CBI radar,” the sources said and don’t rule out their arrest.
All evidences are being collected against them, they asserted.
Apart from his three kin, ASI Ashok Kumar also leaked question paper to some other youth while CRPF constable Surinder Kumar arranged candidates for the agents from different parts of Jammu to get question paper in lieu of money.
Ashok Kumar used a Bolero to supply the question paper.
Vajinder Singh of Rewari, Haryana booked accommodation at Karnal for the agents and some candidates to supply them with question paper and arranged help, when required, to solve the paper.
Pardeep Kumar of New Delhi was Incharge of the machine where the question paper was published and he managed to keep copies of paper with him and further supplied to the agents.
He not only concealed the question paper but also some OMR sheets and supplied them to Haryana-based gangsters, who along with people in Jammu including police and CRPF constables were running racket of paper leakage of the SSB.
With four arrests today, total number of arrests made by the CBI in paper leakage of Sub Inspectors and JE Civil have gone up to 13.
Nine previously arrested persons including serving BSF Commandant are in the jail presently.
